Program Highlights

About the Initiative

  • The initiative has been launched by Progressive Intercultural Community Services, dedicated to serving seniors

  • The SETT initiative focuses on educating and supporting seniors to learn Technology.

 
 

LEARN MORE
  • Participants have had the opportunity to connect with another generation and community members they typically would not have the opportunity to meet with.

 

  • Seniors and youth have enjoyed getting to know one another, learning from one another and understand each other perspectives

Free Training Sessions

  • Training sessions offer seniors the chance to learn the basics of computers and internet

  • Empowers seniors to use their phones and computers / tablets more efficiently

  • Helps seniors connect better with their family, friends and community

  • 15 sessions offered to facilitate easy & slow-paced learning
  • Multi-lingual program delivered in English, Hindi & Punjabi
  • Sessions held over Zoom, from the comfort of your home
  • Eligibility Criteria: Senior Citizens (55 yrs+), residents of Surrey

Engagement Sessions

  • Virtual sessions are conducted to keep the engagement with seniors on-going, even after the training sessions.

  • The weekly sessions are based on different themes and the idea behind is to encourage maximum seniors participation and engagement.

  • Ipad manual/guide is provided along to help in operation of the device
  • Loan term is initially 6 months and is extendable upto a year, if required
  • Eligibility Criteria: Senior Citizens (55 yrs+), residents of Surrey
