Program Highlights

Project Description

  • Our goal is to promote inclusion through education, truth, and reconciliation, while fostering a sense of community through a safe environment for people from all backgrounds to learn, explore and connect with our Indigenous population through their knowledge, teachings, and cultural tradition.

Project Highlights

  • Ipad programs programs to ensure connection to family and tradition through technology.
  • The project allows elders to still attend traditional gatherings while staying safe during COVID.

  • Our raised outdoor garden beds allowed our elders to connect to the earth while maintaining social distancing.
  • One-on-One Support of our elders ensured a close connection was maintained throughout COVID to resources, like our gift card program which helped with monthly food top-ups. 

Timing/Location

  • Even though COVID continues to impact how we go about our daily lives, FRAFCA’s Elder Support Program is run on a continuous basis to ensure our elders always have the support they need.
